This week on The Church Revitalization Podcast, we had a little fun while still tackling some interesting issues that churches face. The premise was that Scott and I would each come up with three questions for each other regarding church revitalization or leadership development. Then, we’d see how the other person would answer the questions. We did not know what each other’s questions were before starting to record and diving in, so you get our first reactions and ideas.
The questions are posted below, but you’ll have to listen to the episode here or on your favorite podcast app or watch the YouTube version to hear our answers.
Do any of these church revitalization questions particularly resonate with you? What would your answer be?
You can comment below or over on YouTube.
- How can very rural churches in sparsely-populated areas live out the Great Commission?
- Which is the bigger mistake when communicating change in the church: saying too much too soon or not giving enough information soon enough?
- Does having a lot of money available from a few wealthy families in the church make revitalization easier?
- When going through a discipleship pathway process, what’s a ministry or type of ministry that you see churches most often struggle to want to change or eliminate?
- When moving into an elder-led leadership model, should the church focus more on character development or skills development?
- How can a pastor tell if he’s gone past the point of having a “vote of no confidence” (not literally, but effectively) and he needs to let someone else take the reins?
